DANIELLE BOURGEON

Danielle trained at The Rock School where she danced in the Pennsylvania Ballet's Nutcracker 1997-1999. She then trained at Pennsylvania Dance Institute & joined DDB in 2000 performing in Sleeping Beauty (Prologue Fairy), Coppélia, & principal roles in A Christmas Carol (Present & Beggars), When Fairy Tales Come True (“the Bitch”) & Cinderella (Fairy Godmother). In 2003 she attended Point Park on a dance scholarship & originated a principal role in Peter Merz’s original work: Au. Danielle retired from ballet in 2005 due to injury & returned to dancing in 2015 after a diagnosis of MS, working her way back from complete paralysis in 2010. She choreographed an original piece, Made Stronger, documenting her journey with MS & performed it at Philadelphia Dance Day 2018 & for an MS Symposium in 2019 at PennMedicine.

Danielle performed in DDB’s A Christmas Carol in 2019, rejoined the company in 2022 as a Principal Character Artist to play the “Stepmother” in DDB’s production of Cinderella (2022), “Carabosse” in The Sleeping Beauty (2023) & Mrs. Cratchit & Mrs. Fezziwing in A Christmas Carol (2024, 2025).
