THE BEAST’S ENCHANTED WORLD PULSES WITH MAGIC AND MELANCHOLY, INVITING DANCERS AND AUDIENCES INTO A REALM WHERE APPEARANCES DECEIVE AND COMPASSION REWRITES FATE.
From spellbound characters to dazzling movement,
meet the artists who shape the magic behind the scenes.
The enchanted court becomes the foundation of an entire world—shaping a courtly landscape where precision and unity give rise to something greater. Dancers emerge not as individual characters, but as musical voices made visible, their phrasing and patterns unfolding with clarity, intelligence, and breath-like musicality.
The choreography reveals itself as architecture in motion: regal in its structure, yet alive in its intricacy. Each sequence builds upon the next with increasing virtuosity and complexity, inviting the eye to follow shifting formations, intricate timing, and seamless transitions that feel both inevitable and astonishing.
“In Mr. Kloss’s fashion there is a certain lyricism to the rhythm & spirit of the ballet - you won’t help but get lulled by the spectacle of it all.”
The enchanted court in this production exists as both world and voice—first appearing as birds, woven into the fabric of the fairy tale as a living, narrative presence that surrounds and responds to Beauty’s journey & the Beast’s fate.
Supporting our cast of professional dancers is the heart of the corps de ballet. It is comprised of exceptional young artists: DDB’s student company, Apprentices & Jr. Apprentices, whose technical discipline and artistic maturity rise to meet the demands of this intricate and highly structured work, representing Hatboro-Horsham High School, Lower Moreland High School, Upper Moreland High School, Lower Moreland Middle School, & Poquessing Middle School.
“I think the transition from the snow to the castle, “the first time we see the enchanted court” has almost every dancer in the company and/or school on stage.
Every layer of this production matters—from principal artists to ensemble members—each contributing to the depth of the work.
The students feel it; it’s exciting for them: from day one they have been rehearsing alongside the company. 🎭”

The significance of the enchanted court deepens in transformation.
When they appear in human form—both in Beauty’s dream and in the ballet’s final resolution—they become the voices that have always been there, calling her to see beyond appearances. What once felt things of fairy tales otherworldly is revealed: a court of dancers whose artistry gives shape to the grandeur of the Beast/Prince’s world.
What emerges is a world where music is not merely heard, but seen—where rhythm becomes design, and design becomes expression. The result is a work of refined classical brilliance, where the discipline of the ensemble and the brilliance of its dancers create a courtly atmosphere that feels timeless, elevated, and utterly alive. ◆
